Falling through the cracks

In the last four weeks, 60,000 Afghan refugees have returned to their homeland from Pakistan, according to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). More than two thirds are children. While a return home is usually welcome, many of the people were never registered as refugees in Pakistan, making them ineligible for support back home. In these photos, the NGO Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) witnessed the struggles of families in Nangarhar, Afghanistan
